Important Information from Ms. Stacy

Dear Lone Peak Family,

What an adventure we have had over the last few months!  It is time to wrap up this school year!  Below is information you may need for the last few days of school.

Instruction

The teachers at Lone Peak will continue to offer class meetings and review content until May 29th (the last day of school).  During these final days, your students can use the review content, turn in work from previous weeks and reach out for help with any skills with which they may need help.  We hope to continue to see you!  We can finish strong!!

Chromebooks

For those of you who have checked out Chromebooks, you may begin returning them next week.  We will have a time period for 5th graders and their siblings to return Chromebooks to help prevent more than one trip for families (see below).  All other families may drop off Chromebooks on May 26th between 1:00-2:30 pm, on May 27th between 9:00-11:00 am, or May 28th between 1:00-2:30 pm.  You will bring the Chromebooks into the foyer, where we will scan them back in.  (If you have library books, you may also drop them off at this time.)

Class Placement

Typically at this time of year, I send out class placement letters.  This year we will need to delay this for a few weeks due to our current situation.  I will email those out to you sometime this summer.  Thank you for your patience.

Artwork

Mrs. Walker has been busily gathering and sorting all of the lovely artwork we intended to use in the Art Show this year.  We will have 5th grade artwork ready to pick up when they turn in their egg drop projects and Chromebooks (see below).  Other grades will be ready upon students’ return in the fall.  If you are moving and want to get your artwork early due to this, please contact your teacher.  This is a very big project, so thank you for your understanding about the timeline.

5th Grade Information

As a reminder, the Egg Drop will occur on May 26th at 9:30.  Due to social distancing, we are unable to have students and families stay onsite. Instead of sharing it live on Facebook, we will be recording it. The video will most likely be posted on Facebook and our website, but we will send out an email when it’s ready to let you know how to view it.  If you have 5th grade students, they can drop off their egg drop project from 8:00 am to 9:00 am  on May 26th. This allows us time to bring them to the roof.  At that time, our 5th graders (and any siblings who have Chromebooks) can drop off their Chromebooks, library books and pick up their art portfolios.  Please remember that you cannot remain onsite to watch the Egg Drop.  We look forward to sharing video of this event with you.

Also, we have been enjoying the pictures and dedications from parents to 5th graders on Facebook and our website. We will continue to accept these through the last day of school. If you would still like to participate, please email the information to mary.hardy@canyonsdistrict.org.

Exits

Finally, if your student(s) will not be attending Lone Peak next year or if your 5th grader will not be attending Indian Hills or Draper Park, and you have not already let the school know, please call the office or email mary.hardy@canyonsdistrict.org as soon as possible.

I hope the next few weeks are amazing!

Love,

Ms. Stacy
