  2. Organize School Council/Vote on Open Positions
    1. The Chair will send out the monthly agenda and run meetings. Brenda Sim moves to keep Lara Liu as SCC Chair. Lorie Langeland seconded the motion. Council Voted For: 9, Against: 0.
    2. The Vice Chair will run meetings in absence of the Chair. Motion to keep Cinnamin Morton as Vice Chair by Lorie Langeland, seconded by Ryan Zimmerman. Council Voted For: 9, Against:0
    3. The Scribe will take detailed notes (minutes) to be posted on the SCC site. Julie Schow will remain the scribe. No vote needed.
  3. Monthly Meetings
    1. Review requirements for meetings Open and Public Meetings Act: notice of meetings, keeping minutes and recordings, agendas, and voting.
    2. Monthly meetings will be held the 2nd Monday of each month at 3:45 p.m. in the library.
    3. Meeting dates will be 9/18, 10/9, 11/13, 12/11, 1/8, 2/12, 3/11, 4/8, and 5/13. Motion to approve meeting dates by Lori Langeland. Brenda Sim seconded the motion. Council Voted For: 9, Against: 0.
  4. Digital Citizenship Coordinator Presentation by Nicole Luna/Teacher
    1. Digital Citizenship School Plan includes district filters to block inappropriate material and searches.
    2. Teachers will use Lan School to monitor student’s screens
    3. Digital Citizenship Week (the week of Fall Break) will focus on students showing good digital citizenship. Students will get stickers provided by the district.
    4. Thrive Time lessons have one lesson per unit dedicated to digital citizenship. Students will get lessons in Stem and in the classroom. Thrive Time lessons available on the school website.
  5. Botvin LifeSkills 4th Grade Curriculum Discussion by Tracy Morris/School Counselor
    1. Botvin is a state-mandated program that is life skills training. Topics include decision making, self-esteem, social skills, stress management, refusal skills (drugs), communication.
    2. Mrs. Morris teaches monthly counselor lessons to each class that addresses similar skills.
    3. Nova is a 5th grade state-mandated program that addresses saying no to drugs.
  6. TSSP (Teacher Student Success Plan) and Land Trust Goals/Plan Due in January
    1. ELA Goal: By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, 80% or more of Lone Peak students in grades K-3 will make typical or better progress as measured by Acadience Pathways to Progress. We did not meet the goal. We will keep the same goal for the 2023-2024 school year. 
    2. In addition, 80% of students in grades 4-5 who score Basic or Below Basic will advance at least one level on the Reading Inventory by the end of the 2022-2023 school year. We  made growth on our goal. We will keep the same goal for the 2023-2024 school year.
    3. Math Goal: By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, students in grades 2-5 at Lone Peak Elementary will grow in proficiency on Concepts and Applications to achieve 85% proficient as measured by Acadience Benchmark data. We made growth (grades 2-5 85% proficient). We will keep the same goal for the 2023-2024 school year.
    4. SNAP Plan will be discussed at the October meeting.
