- Safe Walking Routes Plan
- Review of SNAP Plan
- Principal Stacy reviewed the Safe Routes Plan and asked for any suggestions for other areas of concern that need to be addressed in the plan.
- Suggestions: Continue to have a crossing guard at the corner of High Mesa Drive. Ask for a blinking school zone light on Highland Drive. This continues to be a problem area. Ask for the trees to be trimmed back on High Mesa Drive and Wasatch to help with visibility in the intersection. Plowing and de-icing on the road on snow days for the back pick-up and drop-off on 11580 S Lone Eagle Lane. Also, school back drop-off district plowing to ensure safety of cars not sliding on the hill. No Parking signs further down on High Mesa Drive so that cars don’t park on the west side of the street during pick-up and drop-off. The street is unable to accommodate traffic lanes and cars on both sides of the street during that time.
- Updates and signatures sent for review of plan. Motion to approve and add changes to the SNAP Plan by Ryan Zimmerman, seconded by Lorie Langeland. Council voted for: 8, against: 0.
- School Safety Plan
- Greatest Safety Concern at School: student interactions, emotional reactions, spacial awareness, especially during unstructured times
Action Plan: Thrive Time lessons, Tracy Morris small groups, More Grace Dearborn training - SCC members are pleased at how practice drills are handled. Drills are well-planned and handled appropriately. Principal Stacy explained that all exterior doors are locked and checked each day. Students in the hallways will go to the nearest classroom and participate in the drill.
