  1. Welcome (meeting started at 3:49 pm)
  2. SCC recommended school website updates by October 1, 2021
    1. Lone Peak Elementary website is up to date. It is checked regularly and updated as needed.
  3. Member Information
    1. An email will be sent out to members to see if information is current and if member would like information posted.
  4. Schedule for SCC Meetings
    1. Meetings will be held the 2nd Monday of every month at 3:40 p.m. Currently held over Zoom. Notice of meetings to be posted to public. Brenda to follow up on how to do this since they are currently over Zoom.
  5. Review of Current Plan and Expenditures
    1. Ms. Stacy reports compliance in each area spent. Ms. Stacy will send an email out to SCC members to review for suggestions for utilizing funds in other areas.
  6. School Safety and Digital Citizenship Report
    1. “Think Safe” – District Safety Plan (can be found on school district website)
    2. Includes plans for monthly school drills (emergency drills, evacuation drills, hazardous materials, escape, shelter-in-place, earthquake, fire, and public health emergencies)
    3. Communication for emergencies. Parent notification is through text, phone and email.
    4. Volunteers. All volunteers must be registered and go through a background check.
    5. Internet Safety (especially for things such as online web searching while on a school computer and Tik-Tok challenges, etc.)
    6. School Grounds Safety. The school sidewalks and front walkway are shoveled for snow. Any suspicious activities (unsafe behavior) are reported and monitored.
    7. Internet Safety and Digital Citizenship. This is for any inappropriate web searches by students at school. Searches are automatically flagged. White Ribbon Week is another tool the PTA uses to go home with each student on internet safety. Discussion of bringing in a guest speaker to the school for parents as a resource as well and making it available to record for those that can’t attend. Draper Park has a resource we might be able to use. We will plan to create our Lone Peak school safety plan next month.
  7. Second Step Update (Social Emotional Learning)
      1. Second Step was placed on hold based on a link found in the program.
      2. Several options are being presented to the school board this evening 10/12/2021 (Keep SEL at the Elem level, Keep SEL at the Elem and Middle level, or Nearpod)
      3. Board is reading parent emails.
      4. It is a very heated topic for many parents and teachers. Be cautious in what you write and say when representing Lone Peak or the SCC.
