  1. Welcome
    1. Approval of last meeting’s minutes (9/14/20) – Michelle moved to approve, Victor-2nd, all present approved.

  2. Digital Citizenship and School Safety Report
    1. Report available online at https://www.canyonsdistrict.org/safe-schools
    2. Safety concerns from last year
      1. Lack of sidewalk near back drop-off/pick-up area-sidewalk added this fall
      2. Snow/ice accumulation in Kinder area-still working on this
      3. Online safety – examples include: filters in place and Lanschool to monitor students while online
    3. Every SCC member should read the report in preparation for discussion at November meeting
  3. Initial Digital Citizenship and School Safety Report Discussion
    1. Broken windows/portables
      1. Windows have been broken 4 times this year
      2. Neighborhood had similar issues
      3. Need to purchase 1 additional camera to look on the other side of the portables and blacktop/playground area
      4. Footage taken by cameras saves for at least a few days
    2. Tar melting/balls
      1. Blacktop needs to be resurfaced
    3. Ms. Stacy said both issues can be written into the School Safety Plan with more discussion in November
    4. Covid supplies/supports are part of a separate budget
      1. Supplies include: small group dividers, peroxide spray, hand sanitizer, wipes
      2. Covid cases have been managed well
      3. Lone Peak has stayed in the 1-5 case range
  4. Review School Data
    1. No RISE data
      1. RISE will be replaced by SAGE
    2. Acadience data
      1. Comparison of Spring 2020 adn Fall 2020 scores
        1. Fall scores for ELA were slightly lower than what is typically seen but will recover
        2. Fall scores for Math were lower than ELA. This may be due to reading being more easily continued in the home environment. These scores should be recouped as well.
        3. Based on how the school year was impacted by COVID-19 scores weren’t a suprise
        4. Acadience testing was not modified for COVID-19
    3. Discussion
      1. Improving scores could be challenging if students have to be in/out of school
      2. Both online and Friday independent study mayh help parents become more proficient with math/CC standards, especially with the addition of online resources via Canvas
      3. Parents have more flexibility with when work gets done
      4. Teachers have stepped up to the challenge to provide all that they can for students
      5. Fridays will give teachers more time to juggle providing online and in-person content

    1. SCC Training – All SCC members – online module or in-person (9361 South 300 East):
      1. 10/1/20: 1:00 – 2:30 pm or 6:30 – 8:00 pm
      2. 10/13/20 : 10:00 – 11:30 am or 6:30 – 8:00 pm-Must register/RSVP
    2. SCC 101 – New members – online sessions available

    1. Halloween
      1. Parents will not be allowed to participate in Halloween festivities due to COVID-19
      2. Parade will be filmed by grade and shared with parents
      3. Costumes and parties can still happen
