  1. Welcome: Began at 3:45 p.m.
    1. Principal Stacy welcomed SCC members and reviewed the agenda:
      1. Welcome and approve minutes from October
      2. School Counselor (Tracy Morris): Provide information about Student Needs Assessment
      3. Review and propose amendments to last year’s Land Trust
      4. Discuss and vote whether to skip December SCC meeting and resume in January
  2. Approval of the minutes form October SCC meeting
    1. Motion to approve October SCC minutes by Lorie Langeland, seconded by Jennifer Willie;  Council Voted For: 5, Against: 0
    2. Tracy Stacy has the names and items updated on the website
  3. Review Land Trust and Goals Report
    1. There is still time to do any amendments to Land Trust
    2. Discussed supplies that were purchased at the beginning of the school year and funds for substitutes for teacher planning. A half-day of teacher/team planning occured in October. Tracy Stacy is scheduling another half-day for teacher planning in December.
    3. Any leftover funds will be used for classroom supplies, such as books for classroom libraries.
  4. Discuss Digital Citizenship Report
    1. A Digital Citizenship Report has been submitted.
  5. Discuss School Safety Report and Concerns
    1. Tracy Stacy checked with the district about using the character education lessons that are in the Wonders Reading Program. The district said the board will have lessons approved and ready for teachers in January.
    2. There is a parent group meeting that goes over and approves the district lessons for district character education. SCC members would like to also be a part of this process. Tracy will check on the status of the meetings.
    3. Along with character education concerns, office behavior referrals have increased.
    4. Tracy Stacy updated status on the restroom issues. There is a check-in/out and one-at-a-time in the restrooms in the affected grade-level restrooms. They are fully aware and are continuing to work on the issue.
    5. SCC members continue to believe the number one safety and security concern is getting character education in our classrooms and problem-solving  skills for students.
  6. Student Needs Assessment by Tracy Morris, School Counselor
    1. The school counseling program is driven by teacher and stakeholder input based on student needs.
    2. Teachers survey on concerns about student behavior and their needs prior to the school year beginning.
    3. Teachers survey results indicate a high need for student services. The services available are as follows: small group counseling (limited to 6 student groups per grade), monthly classroom lessons, (taught by school counselor and/or intern), behavior interventions, teacher collaboration consultation, and short-term counseling.
  7. SCC Next Meeting
    1. Motion to skip December SCC meeting by Lorie Langeland, seconded by Jennifer Willie; Council Voted For: 6, Against: 0
    2. Next SCC meeting will be January 9, 2023.
