- Areas of Need
- 23% of 2nd-5th graders are not proficient in Concepts and Applications (measured by Acadience). English Learners and low socioeconomic populations seem to be the most impacted.
- Addressing these gaps will require implementation of number talks to develop conceptual understanding, robust vocabulary routines, use of the C-R-A model and structured classroom discussions.
- 77% of students made typical or better progress on Acadience Reading Measures. The school goal is 80%.
- Addressing this will require more professional development and small group planning time. There is also a need for more time spent on reading for purpose.
- Less than 80% of students on RI are advancing from Basic-Proficient or from Below Basic-Basic, Proficient, or Advanced in grades 4 and 5.
- Addressing this will require helping students advance in multisyllabic skill practice in the 95% group intervention and more time spent reading.
- 23% of 2nd-5th graders are not proficient in Concepts and Applications (measured by Acadience). English Learners and low socioeconomic populations seem to be the most impacted.
- Proposed Goals
- 85% of students will score proficient or above on Concepts and Applications as measured by Acadience by the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
- 80% of students in K-3 will make typical or better progress as measured by Acadience Pathways to Progress. Also, 80% of students in the Basic-Below Basic category will improve at least one level on the Reading Inventory by the end of the 2021-2022 school year.
