  2. Approve January SCC meeting minutes
    1. Motion to approve the January minutes by Cinnamin Morton, seconded by Lorie Langeland.

  3. Discussion of DLI issues or concerns
    1. SCC members reviewed the Utah Senate 102 Bill. This bill is sponsored by Senator Fillmore. It affects all DLI programs the Beverly Taylor Sorensen Arts Program.
    2. The senator has proposed sunset dates for these programs and/or more government oversight on the funding.
    3. There have been revisions to the bill and the district is aware of the concerns and will make adjustments as we know more.
  4. Acadience and final report for the previous year
    1. Paige Martinez is the Instructional Coach at Lone Peak. She came to the meeting to discuss this year’s Acadience data.
    2. She stated the goals are for 80% of students to make typical or better growth based on the pathways to progress.
    3. Instructional aides are focusing on lower grades K-3. They are helping with small group instruction in reading, math and Chinese. They also help teachers by doing some of the progress monitoring for low scoring students.
    4. The progress monitoring drives the success for aide support and small group instruction by teachers.
    5. The groups are fluid as the needs or growth change, the teacher will adjust groups to fit the student needs.
  5. TSSP and Land Trust Plans
    1. School goals and focus are based on Acadience benchmark data and 5th grade RISE end-of-year assessment.
      Goals: By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, 80% or more of Lone Peak students will make typical or better progress in reading and 85% in math as measured by Acadience Pathways to Progress. Fifth graders will increase their proficiency on purpose, focus, and organization in writing by 40% on the RISE.
    2. Discussion and questions:
      1. What is the budget for next school year?
        The budget is based on the enrollment projections for the next year. The budget is likely to be $117,000.
      2. How else can we support the Brain Booster teachers with increased salaries for the work they do and as they add to the success at school?
        The Brain Booster teacher salaries are set by the district salary schedule. We could look into increasing hours to keep their collaboration times as it has proven to be successful.
      3. How else can we add support or funds for our teachers?
        All other expenditures and suggestions can be discussed with teachers for ideas in BLT meetings.
