Next Year Enrollment for 2026-2027

Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year will be January 14th-February 27th.

Who Needs to Enroll?

Incoming Kindergarten Students 
  • See half-day kindergarten information below if you are interested.
  • Kindergarten students must turn five years old on or before September 1, 2026.

New Students
  • Any student not currently attending Lone Peak Elementary must complete an enrollment application, including students accepted into dual immersion or on permit.
  • If transferring from another Canyons District school, see District Transfers information below.


How do I enroll?


You will need to upload the following documents with the enrollment application:
  1. Child’s Birth Certificate
  2. Immunization Record (electronic copy, not yellow card) OR Utah Immunization Exemption Training Certificate
    • If your student is missing immunizations, please still upload their current record. The school will follow-up before the first day of school. Immunizations must be complete within the first 30 days of school or the student will be excluded.
  3. Proof of Residency (living inside Lone Peak boundaries)
    • Acceptable Proof of Residency Documents (The document must be visible, not just the envelope.)
    • If you live outside Lone Peak boundaries, you must apply for a permit unless your student has been accepted into the dual immersion program. Do not complete the enrollment application until you know your student’s permit has been approved. Permits will not be reviewed until after January 16th.


Exceptions for required forms will be made for McKinney-Vento students who are displaced or experiencing homelessness.

Dual Immersion, Permits, and District Transfers

Dual Immersion

If you have a new student and have applied for dual immersion next year, you should receive notification from the district on January 23rd. Do not complete the enrollment application until you know your student has been accepted. Any student not currently attending Lone Peak Elementary still needs complete an enrollment application but if you live outside Lone Peak boundaries you will not need to upload proof of residency if your student is accepted into the program. 

Permits

If you have a new student and live outside Lone Peak boundaries, you must apply for a permit unless your student has been accepted into the dual immersion program. Do not complete the enrollment application until you know your student’s permit has been approved. Permits will not be reviewed until after January 16th. The permit only needs to be filled out once as long as the student attends Lone Peak Elementary.  

District Transfers

If you have moved into Lone Peak Elementary boundaries from another Canyons District school, you do not need to upload the birth certificate or immunization record as long as it is on file with the other school. You will need to upload proof of residency. 

Half-Day Kindergarten

All kindergarten classes in Canyons District are full-day, but students may attend on a half-day morning schedule. Buses are not provided to transports students home. Parents will pick their students up before lunch or after lunch. Due to the full-day schedule, students will miss out on core instruction and may miss out on Brain Booster enrichment classes.

If you are interested in half-day kindergarten, complete the Half-Day Kindergarten Interest Form by February 27th.
