Four scheduled Parent Education Nights will provide important information to families about important mental health topics, including suicide prevention; how to address school bullying; and drug- and alcohol-abuse prevention. All events are from 6:30-8 p.m. at the following middle schools:
The keynote speaker for all four nights is Deseret News reporter and columnist Lois Collins, who writes and speaks about family issues. Breakout sessions will follow the keynote. Parents are welcome to attend multiple nights. The events also will include an information fair with additional family resources.
As you know, SEP/Parent Teacher conferences are right around the corner. Believe it or not, our conference really are on Monday, February 2 and Wednesday, February 4 in order to help those families that have students in the middle schools as well. This was done for the first time last year and is continuing this year.
You may sign up for a time using the online scheduler found in the top right hand corner of this site. We have also included a letter explaining conferences and an instruction guide to help you with the online scheduler. Let our front office know if you have any questions (801-826-8650).
It is important that we obtain an accurate count of all children qualifying for kindergarten in the Canyons School District for the 2015-2016 school year. If you have a child who will be five years of age ON or BEFORE September 1, 2015, the child qualifies for next year’s kindergarten program. State law requires that all school districts in Utah abide by the same September 1st entrance cut-off date.
We will hold a Kindergarten Orientation in April 2015. If you complete the form (linked below) and return it to our office, we will mail you a letter in March 2015 notifying you of the details.
